Anchor Ranch Alpacas was conceived in April 2003, built from scratch as an alpaca ranch and opened in November 2003. The ranch is owned and operated by Richard Smith and Sharon Vail who retired from the Naval Aviation community with 50 years of service between them. Commitment to excellence is their way of live.

Working Together
The challenge with Anchor Ranch was with the design. How do we combine a nautical theme and alpacas? The solution was to implement a parchment background with a compass rose to show the nautical theme but use natural colors that are consistent with alpaca fleece. The result is a unique design that accentuates the nautical theme and shows off the beauty of the alpacas.
